20 years ago I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the California, Roseville Mission. On this very day, I was serving in Paradise, California. I spent four months living in a breathtaking forest full of giant, awe inspiring trees that surrounded every home. They stood grand and tall, as if they were protecting the people around them. It was a beautiful area full of kind, loving people who opened their hearts and homes to us as we set out to share a message of love. My heart is broken for the wonderful people of Paradise. My thoughts and prayers are with all who have lost everything, including loved ones.

Sometimes I need a bit of gentle humility to remind me of what, and who, are of most importance. | "The depth of the love of parents for their children cannot be measured. It is like no other relationship. It exceeds concern for life itself. The love of a parent for a child is continuous and transcends heartbreak and disappointment." -President James E. Faust
